My Favourite Authors and Books

         Aside from English-translated Japanese manga, I have long had a love affair with the written word. I still love authors from my childhood, such as Lucy Maud Montgomery (Anne of Green Gables) and Agatha Christie, but over the years I have added more and more "favourite" authors. Not all authors that I read become favourites, but many do.
    {Just because I was interested, I went through the books I presently have in my collection (I know my list of favourite authors below is long, so I wanted to see if it made sense). After I wrote down all the authors of the books I have (and not my husband's books/authors) I came to the startling conclusion that I really DO like the following authors a lot! I know for a fact that I missed a couple or ten authors {and this doesn't count the manga I have either}, but my listing counts over 80 different authors - not to mention books... *sigh* - it's worse than I thought - and I don't have enough book shelves, so I've got boxes of books in various places as well as double stacking on the shelves I do have... is it too late??}
    Today, my list comprises authors from many different types of writing: Mysteries, Suspense, Historical Fiction, etcetera. Following is the list of my current favourites!
  • A great website for book lists, etc is Fantastic Fiction; it's a wonderful repository of authors, books and other information.      Check it out!
  • One of my favourite online book stores is Indigo / Chapters. Great selection and reasonable shipping costs - perfect!
  • Another excellent website is A Mystical Unicorn: Online Used Bookstore. This site is WAY more than just an online bookstore. There are thousands of Bibliographies and although they now charge members a yearly fee for access to the in-depth bibliographies, it is a very comprehensive site. Check it out, it may be something that you've been looking for.
